About Wrightbus:

Wrightbus was founded in 1946 here in our hometown of Ballymena, starting life under the name Robert Wright & Son Coach builders. Originally the company was known for re-bodying vehicles.

After establishing itself Wrightbus began producing its own vehicles, firstly school buses before moving into conventional single deck buses and coaches. During the 80’s the company took huge leaps forward thanks to contracts across the UK and farther afield in Hong Kong and Singapore.

The current Wrightbus is a market leader in innovative technologies utilising renewable energies like Hydrogen, and Electricity. Wrightbus is on a mission to change the transportation industry with revolutionary zero-emission buses and lessons from the past, to help design a better & greener future.

Electrical Installation: DC Rapid Charging throughout the factory.

Wrightbuses StreetDeck Electroliner is not a regular electric bus, its optimised power from a 454kW zero-emission battery electric power train is the ideal battery capacity for a UK Double Deck bus. It powers it to a range of up to 200 miles and a fast charge time of just 2.5 hours ensures daily scheduling aligning with driver breaks.

Electric buses have a bright future ahead of them; they are already displacing traditional fleets around the world. They are the ideal ride for everyone because they are more cost-effective and produce no by-product. Apart from being environmentally beneficial, electric buses are becoming increasingly efficient. Every day, their range expands to new heights. These buses will be able to reach their full potential with a little encouragement and assistance in the future.

FCS Services succesfully tendered for the installation of multiple DC Rapid Chargers (both fixed and mobile units) throughout Wrightbus premises. Ranging from 40kW to 150kW units. We managed the Design, Installation of all assosiated cabling, containment, and networking. And also worked alongside Heliox to commission the following;

  • 3 x Heliox Mobile 40KW DC charging units.

  • 2 x Heliox Rapid 150KW DC power cabinets.

  • 6 x Heliox Flex 50KW DC Dispenser columns (photograph below).

Commercial & Industrial EV Charging

Electric vehicles are becoming more and more popular, with a push for combustion engines to be phased out of production by 2030. With this in mind the range of cars and vehicles on the market is expanding each year with more and more manufacturers making the move to EV.

With more drivers switching to electric cars and other EV’s, the need for charging points is quickly outweighing supply, we have reached the tipping point. So whether you are looking to move to EV personally or switch your companies fleet over to electric vehicles, simply want to provide your employees with onsite access to EV charging or are looking to introduce a public charging point scheme, we can help you with supply and installation of a wide range of charging.

With the EVCNI brand we are ideally positioned to install both domestic and commercial EV charging points, with both engineers and advisors specially trained in this area. This allows us to give the best advice on all areas of EV charging and enables us to carry out safe, hassle-free, installation of EV charging points, guiding you from initial concept to completed installation.

Why install an EV charging point?

There are several great benefits to installing an EV charger at your premises;

  • Lower your organisations carbon footprint

  • Enable easy charging for your employees with electric vehicles

  • Enable quick charging times with the use of rapid chargers for company fleets – such as those with electric delivery vehicles

  • Future-proof your organisation – the future of travel is electric!

  • Entice customers – For companies with regular visitors or customers on-site, having charging points is a great benefit to those with electric vehicles.

  • Incentivise employees – having EV charging available for employees is a great company benefit.

  • Easily charge your vehicle at home without the need to leave your car at a charging point elsewhere.

  • Reduce your charging costs. When compared with the cost of using rapid chargers in large networks, installing a charger of your own can significantly reduce your charging costs.

  • Grants are available for businesses, £350.00 per outlet up to a maximum of 40 outlets per business entity across all premises.
